Two suspects arrested for South Sacramento homicide

The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department said two people were arrested for the murder of a 30-year-old woman in South Sacramento on Friday.

NEWS RELEASE: HOMICIDE ON CASA GRANDE WAY (SUSPECTS ARRESTED)

Just before noon on Friday, March 3, 2023, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to assist the Sacramento Metro Fire Department regarding a report of an unconscious female at a residence on Casa Grande Way. Fire personnel arrived on scene first and began life-saving measures. Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful, and the victim, a 30-year-old female, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office was then requested to respond to the scene.

The Deputy Coroner performed a cursory inspection of the victim and discovered a discrete gunshot wound to her torso. Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene a short time later, interviewed witnesses, and gathered evidence.

Based on their investigation, Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives arrested 22-year-old Traydeon HOLMES and 41-year-old Monique MOORE. Both HOLMES and MOORE were booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for murder and are scheduled to appear in court on March 7, 2023, at 3:00 P.M.
