Sacramento law enforcement agencies investigating three deaths at different locations

Sacramento area law enforcement agencies are investigating three deaths at different locations in the area. Two of the deaths were in homeless camps and the third was found in the American River. The deaths are not believed to be related.

Sacramento Metro Fire responded to a fire at a homeless camp with multiple RV and campers along Roseville Road. After the fire was put out, first responders found the body of a woman in one of the campers. Sacramento Sheriff Detectives and arson investigators are looking into the death as a homicide.

Around 11:30 am Monday, a 911 call was received about a body in the water at Discovery Park. Sacramento Fire Department was called to the scene. The body was found in waist-deep water. No other information has been released on the person found.

Later Monday afternoon the body of a woman believed to be in her 60s was found in a tent at a homeless camp near Longview Drive and Watt Ave. Officials said the woman was reported missing by her family on March 1. The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death as a homicide after the Sacramento Coroner examined the body.
