Suspect arrested in Sacramento homicide

The Sacramento Police Department arrested a suspect in last Friday’s homicide. 32-year-old Miguel Gamboa was taken into custody on Tuesday in West Sacramento. He has been charged with felony murder.

On March 31, 2023, just after 11:23 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 4400 block of 71st Street for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 29-year-old male, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers attempted life-saving measures however the male was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding personnel from the Sacramento Fire Department.

The Sacramento County Coroner has identified the victim as 33-year-old Edmund Arredondo of Sacramento.
