Elk Grove police investigating Thursday morning fatal collision

The Elk Grove Police Department is investigating a fatal collision that occurred early Thursday morning on Grant Line Road between Bradshaw and Elk Grove Blvd. The crash involved two vehicles, a Honda and a pickup truck. According to the Elk Grove Police Department press release, the driver of the Honda, a 24-year-old male, was traveling eastbound on Grant Line and drifted into the westbound lane colliding head-on with the pickup truck.

The Honda driver was declared deceased at the scene and the other driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The road was closed for several hours while police investigated the collision.
The Sacramento County Coroner will release the name of the deceased driver.
