California gas prices down almost $1.50 from one year ago

California residents are paying almost $1.50 less for gas than they did one year ago according to AAA. The average price of a gallon of gas in the state is now $4.846. One year ago that price was $6.345. The national average is currently $3.578. That is down $1.34 from a year ago.

California residents can take some consolation in that the state no longer has the highest gas prices. That honor now belongs to the state of Washington with an average of $4.973
