Alabama-based Vulcan Materials to Construct Elk Grove Aggregate Plant
The Elk Grove Planning Commission recently approved a conditional use permit and plans last week for the construction of a 24-acre aggregate plant at 10000 Waterman Road, about 2 miles east of Highway 99. The plant, which would be built on undeveloped land zoned for heavy industrial uses, would produce asphalt and concrete and serve as a recycling center for asphalt and concrete debris. The site’s proximity to the freeway and development growth areas attracted Vulcan Materials (NYSE: VMC) to the location. Construction and opening could happen in 2024.
