Deadly month for drivers in Elk Grove

In just over one month there have been three fatal collisions in the city of Elk Grove. The ages of the victims range from 19 to 63 years old. All were solo vehicle collisions.

63-year-old woman killed in fatal collision in Elk Grove

A 63-year-old woman was killed early this morning in a single-vehicle fatal collision. According to Elk Grove police, the collision occurred around 1:30 am this morning.

On July 27, 2023, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to Elk Grove Boulevard, between Ginther Drive and Bruceville Road, regarding a single-vehicle collision.

The driver of a blue Dodge truck was driving eastbound in the westbound turn lane of Elk Grove Boulevard when the driver drifted into the center median, colliding with a tree.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and rendered aid. The driver, a 63-year-old woman, however, succumbed to her injuries on the scene.

Based on the investigation, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol was a factor in the collision.

Elk Grove police release details of Monday night fatal collision

One person was killed Monday night in a single-vehicle collision on Elk Grove Blvd near Interstate 5. The Elk Grove Police Department released the following information.

ELK GROVE, CA – On August 7, 2023, at approximately 8:09 p.m., officers responded to Elk Grove Boulevard, just east of Interstate 5, regarding a single-vehicle collision.

The driver of a silver Nissan Murano was driving northbound Interstate 5 and exited onto Elk Grove Boulevard. The vehicle continued eastbound in the number one lane when according to witnesses, the SUV accelerated and drifted into the center median for an unknown reason and struck a tree.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and rendered aid. The driver, a 34-year-old man, however, succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

The cause of the collision is under investigation; however, detectives believe alcohol was not a factor.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 34-year-old Robert Graham Hanson of Roseville.

19-year-old driver killed in Elk Grove fatal collision

A 19-year-old was killed early Monday morning in Elk Grove. According to Elk Grove police, the driver of a white Honda was traveling westbound on Bilby Road at a high rate of speed when the car struck a curb and then hit a tree.

The collision occurred around 12:44 a.m. The driver was declared deceased at the scene by first responders. The Sacramento County Coroner has identified the victim as 19-year-old Mohammad Ragab of Elk Grove.
