According to a voicemail shared with Elk Grove Laguna News that came from the Senior Center, the caregiver of a senior was robbed in the parking lot at the Elk Grove Senior Center at District 56. The incident happened shortly before noon. The senior was already inside the building.
As a precaution, staff will be in the parking lot on Fridays between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., and again at 2:30 p.m. when the Friday Bingo game is over.

The victim, a 49-year-old woman, arrived at District 56 to meet another person on Friday morning around 11:30 when she got out of her parked vehicle and was immediately approached by two suspects. One suspect held the victim against the vehicle while the other suspect entered the victim’s car and took her purse. Both suspects ran off and then got into a vehicle waiting at the District 56 east parking lot entrance.
Both suspects were described as Black males, late teens or early twenties, wearing dark clothing.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. We will have an increased presence in the area of District 56 and the Senior Center.
