Sacramento Sheriff’s deputies arrest man for string of store robberies

The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department announced they have arrested a man wanted for a string of convenience store robberies in the Sacramento area. 24-year-old Ilam Singh was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with five counts of robbery.

Sacramento County Sheriff Robbery Detectives have been investigating a string of convenience store armed robberies throughout the County, over the past few weeks. In multiple incidents, the suspect robbed the businesses of California Lottery ticket scratchers. Based on the clothing description, pattern, and gun description, detectives determined that one suspect, identified as 24-year-old Ilam Singh, was responsible for the series of robberies. Detectives conducted an extensive investigation to identify, locate, and apprehend him.

Yesterday, October 12, 2023, detectives took Singh into custody without incident and booked him into the Sacramento County Main Jail on five counts of PC 211 – Robbery. He is currently ineligible for bail and is scheduled to appear in court on October 16, 2023.
