What’s New with the Zoo Project?
For the last several months, members of the zoo project team have been hard at work developing plans, drawings, and crunching numbers to see if a new zoo in Elk Grove might be possible. Get a glimpse of the newest designs, hear the latest updates, and participate in activities planned for a Community Open House next Saturday, November 4 at Miwok Village Elementary School (10070 Lousada Drive). Bring the family and drop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to discuss this project with the team. Learn more about the zoo project.

Survey: Tell Us Your Trails Tales
The City wants to make it easier for you to navigate Elk Grove’s walking and biking trails and we need your help! We want to know how you use the trails, the navigation tools you prefer, any challenges you experience, and, most importantly, your ideas for improvement. We’ll use your feedback to create an updated signage standard for the trails. Thank you for your participation!Take the Survey

Fall Back. Daylight Savings Time Ends Sunday, November 5
The good news is you gain an hour this weekend. The bad news…standard time is coming back and it will get darker earlier. Set your clocks back an hour beginning this Sunday, November 5.
California voters overwhelmingly passed Proposition 7 in 2018 that would have made daylight savings time permanent in California, but a bill to enact the change was never passed by the Legislature. Dozens of states, including California, continue to consider proposals to adopt either permanent daylight-saving time or permanent standard time, but no states have adopted legislative changes in 2023.

Veterans Day Parade Returns
Show your support for Elk Grove’s military service veterans. Elk Grove American Legion Post 233 will host the Elk Grove Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 11. The parade will begin at the Cosumnes CSD Administrative Building (8820 Elk Grove Boulevard) at 11:11 a.m. and conclude at Elk Grove Regional Park. Submit your entry to participate in the parade before Monday, November 6
