An early morning traffic stop by Elk Grove police officers on Monday led to the arrest of a man who was a convicted felon in possession of a gun and ammunition.
Thomas Cole, the driver of the vehicle, and the vehicle owner and passenger, Tiandra Pruitt, were stopped for driving a vehicle with expired tags. Both were taken out of the vehicle to allow officers to take inventory of the vehicle. Cole then attempted to flee from officers but was detained.
Pruitt was cited and released. Cole was taken into custody and transported to the county jail and charged with several felonies. He is currently being held without bail.
