The Sacramento Police Department is investigating homicides that occurred at two locations over the past two days that have left three people dead. Two people were killed on Tuesday and on Wednesday one person was killed and another was in the hospital.
Homicide Investigation – 100 Block of River Run Circle
On November 7, 2023, around 1:04 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 100 Block of River Run Circle regarding a medical aid call. Upon arrival, officers forced entry into the residence and located an adult female with at least one life threatening gunshot wound, and a male adult with at least one life threatening gunshot wound. A firearm was located on scene.
Both individuals were pronounced deceased on scene by Sacramento Fire Department personnel.
Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, canvassed the area, and interviewed witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. At this time, it is believed that there is no threat to the public.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.

Homicide Investigation – Del Paso Boulevard / El Camino Avenue
On November 8, 2023, around 11:21 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Del Paso Boulevard/ El Camino Avenue regarding reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located two adult males, each suffering from gunshot wounds. Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived on scene shortly after officers and began performing life-saving measures. The victims were transported to an area hospital, and despite the life-saving efforts, one of the male adult victims was pronounced deceased. The second male adult is still at the hospital receiving treatment.
