Celebrate Chanukah with Chabad Elk Grove and the City at the Old Town Plaza this Sunday, December 10 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Chanukah is the Jewish 8-day festival of lights observed this year from December 7-15. Experience the lighting of a 9-foot LED Menorah, savor latkes and doughnuts, shop vendors, and enjoy entertainment and kids activities. Learn more.

Senior Center elves are working extra hard to bring the most unique, beautiful and wow-worthy gifts for shoppers at their Holiday Gift Faire on Saturday, December 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at District56 (8230 Civic Center Drive). Experience the jolly of the season and shop for the special someone on your list among more than 25 local artists, crafters, and vendors. Free admission. All proceeds benefit the Senior Center of Elk Grove.  

Recycle Your Holiday String Lights
Don’t throw away those string lights, recycle instead! Broken or unwanted string lights may be recycled at the following locations: 
Elk Grove City Hall | 8401 Laguna Palms WayMonday through Friday, 8 am. to 5 p.m. 
Special Waste Collection Center | 9255 Disposal LaneSunday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Large lighted holiday decorations such as inflatables and sculptures will only be accepted at the Special Waste Collection Center. Lighted or artificial trees cannot be recycled.

Santa is Coming to Town with Lights and Sirens!
The Cosumnes Fire Department and the Elk Grove Police Department will escort Santa and his elves through three Elk Grove neighborhoods as part of the annual Santa & Sirens Parade on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, December 12-14 , weather permitting, between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m. to spread holiday cheer. View the parade routes for Central/Old Town Elk Grove (December 12), Laguna (December 13), and Southwest Elk Grove/Franklin (December 14).
