Sacramento police looking for the driver in fatal hit-and-run early Sunday morning

The Sacramento Police Department is looking for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run that happened early Sunday morning. A motorcyclist was killed in the collision. No description of the suspect or suspect vehicle has been released. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sacramento Police Department.

Fatal Hit-And-Run Collision – 8th Street / N Street

On February 25th, 2024, around 2:24 am, Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to 8th Street / N Street regarding reports of a vehicle vs motorcyclist hit-and-run collision. Upon arrival, officers located a 22-year-old male adult with significant injuries. The vehicle had fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment by Sacramento Fire Department personnel. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the victim later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Due to the circumstances, detectives from the Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigations Unit are taking over the investigation. Detectives and crime scene investigators will conduct a thorough canvass of the area for evidence, witnesses, and additional information. The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
