Let’s Celebrate Women’s History Month
Women’s History Month grew out of a week-long celebration of women’s contributions to culture, history, and society started in 1978 in Sonoma’s school district. Join us in recognizing the achievements of remarkable women throughout our history and the present-day trailblazers, including Elk Grove’s Deputy City Manager, Kara Reddig, featured in this month’s Ardent for Life magazineLearn more.

Pet Vaccines to Go
Keeping your pet current on vaccines is easy—and free —with Elk Grove Animal Services’ Drive-Thru Vaccine Clinic. Attend the next clinic this Saturday, March 9 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Animal Shelter (9150 Union Park Way). Drive up with your pet, show your photo ID and proof of Elk Grove residency, complete the paperwork, and veterinary staff will administer the appropriate vaccines. Available vaccines include Rabies, Canine DHPP, and Feline FVRCP. Free microchipping and pet licensing (for newly acquired spayed/neutered pets) are also available. Supplies are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. Appointments are required. Learn more.

Pretty Awesome Pavement
The wet weather months really do a number on our roadways, but Elk Grove’s pavement is prettier than most. Road conditions are measured with a Pavement Condition Index, or PCI. Roads in the Sacramento region are rated at 53 PCI, but Elk Grove’s PCI comes in at a stellar 83. We want to thank our hard-working Public Works Department for prioritizing our pavement and caring for all 1,170 linear miles of Elk Grove roadways. Learn more about our award-winning Pavement Management Program.

Community Exchange Zone Seeks to Reduce Robbery and Fraud
Completing a transaction that you arrange online with someone you’ve never met before can be uncomfortable, as well as present an opportunity for crime. To help with this, the Elk Grove Police Department established a Community Exchange Zone in 2019 for the community to use. For the in-person completion of online transactions, the Exchange Zone is a safe place in front of the police station (8400 Laguna Palms Way) where there is a dedicated camera recording 24 hours a day. The location also serves as a neutral site for child custody exchanges. The Exchange Zone is free to use and is one more way that Elk Grove Police Department seeks to proactively reduce incidents of robbery, theft, fraudulent transactions, and violent custody disputes.
