Elk Grove releases information on proposed financing for future zoo

Today the city of Elk Grove released new details on the proposed future zoo in Elk Grove. The Sacramento Zoo has outgrown its current location and partnered with the city of Elk Grove to move to a much larger site at the southern end of the city near Kammerer Road and Lotz Parkway.

Phases 1A and 1B are expected to cost just over $300 million. The city’s share of the project costs is expected to be 57%.

A virtual community meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 17
at 6 p.m. to answer additional questions about the project.
