Time for Some Family Fun
Gather the family and enjoy an afternoon of fun this Saturday, April 13 at Family Fun Day from Noon to 4 p.m. at the Old Town Plaza (9615 Railroad Street). This free event organized by the Elk Grove Youth Commission will feature carnival games, music, activities, and more! Food will be available for purchase.  

Is a New Zoo in Elk Grove’s Future?
Plans to develop a new zoo in Elk Grove have reached an exciting milestone. Learn more about this project and the financing plan and ask your questions during a virtual workshop on Wednesday, April 17 at 6 p.m. Register to attend.

Be Part of Elk Grove’s Artistic Legacy
The Elk Grove Arts Commission is excited to offer an extraordinary opportunity for artists to leave their mark on the community. The Commission is currently seeking proposals for a captivating public art sculpture to be prominently displayed in front of the new Elk Grove Library. This project will infuse more public art into our historic district and provide a warm welcome to all visitors. Artists are invited to submit their statements of qualifications to be considered for this prestigious commission by 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 18Learn more. 

Meet Elk Grove’s Climate Ambassadors
Climate Ambassadors are working to inspire, motivate, and engage the community in the City’s climate efforts. A total of 31 local volunteers with a variety of backgrounds and skills have been selected and trained as Elk Grove’s Climate Ambassadors. These individuals are reaching out to their communities to collect feedback and gain a greater understanding on community needs that should be integrated into the Climate Compass—a framework for generating future public policies and decisions. New Festival Honors a Sweet Treat
ARTgrove will introduce the “Day of La Concha” a celebration of Mexican traditional Sweet Breads (Pan Dulce) on Sunday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at District56.
“La Concha” looks like a seashell, usually pink, tan or brown. Bueno Cafe will offer a tantalizing spread of these sweet treat, Agua frescas, and coffees. Other vendors, themed art murals, an art silent auction, music, Concha art painting presented by Annie Peony Gallery, and children’s activities will be part of the inaugural event which is a fundraiser for Elk Grove Food Bank Services. Bring a nonperishable, unopened and unexpired food donation to receive one free raffle ticket.
Get your Concha, take some Concha photos, and enjoy a sweet Sunday experience with your friends and family at this free event presented by ARTners and sponsored by the City of Elk Grove.
