Two teens arrested for Sacramento homicide and carjacking in March

The Sacramento Police Department announced two teens were arrested for shooting and killing a man, and then carjacking another victim on March 21, 2024, and then dumping the car during their escape. The shooting occurred near the light rail station in the 6500 block of Q Street. 25-year-old Levell Murphy was identified as the victim of the shooting. A man and a woman were also injured and taken to the hospital. The two suspects then carjacked a vehicle near a fitness center on Folsom Blvd and left the vehicle in the Sacramento State parking lot.

A 16 & 17-year-old were arrested on Thursday in cooperation with the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department. The two were transported to juvenile hall on the carjacking warrant and the homicide charges will be presented to the Sacramento County DA.
