The Big Day of Giving is Nearly Here!
This Thursday, May 2, is the Big Day of Giving, and we hope you’ll consider helping out one of the local non-profits in Elk Grove. Most groups are taking donations now and any contribution helps organizations bring arts to Elk Grove, rescue animals, provide care and support for our veterans, offer educational opportunities and programs for all ages, preserve Elk Grove’s rich history, provide food assistance to those less fortunate and so much more. Find out more.

Cash for College: Youth Commission Scholarship Opportunities
The Elk Grove Youth Commission supports local students pursuing higher education. Students in grades 9-12 can apply to receive one of four $500-$1000 scholarships. Students must live or attend high school within the Elk Grove city limits. Apply before Friday, May 3Learn more

Empty Shelves at the Pet Food Pantry
Elk Grove’s Animal Services team is asking for your help to support families, seniors, and unhoused people in need to feed their pets. Help Elk Grove’s furry four-legged residents by donating to the Pet Food Drive, currently under way. You can drop your donations at any of the four participating locations during normal business hours.

Fridays in the Grove Goes Country
Time to boot scoot and boogie! Join us at Old Town Plaza (9615 Railroad Street) this Friday, May 3 from 5-8 p.m. for Country in the Plaza. Learn to line dance from a professional choreographer and hear live music from Gunpowder and Lace. Free and open to all ages. Learn more.
Measure E Oversight Committee to Review Funding Plans for Next Year
The seven-member Measure E Citizens’ Oversight Committee was appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council to review the revenue and expenditure of funds generated by Measure E, a locally approved one-cent sales tax. The Committee will meet on Monday, May 6 at 6 p.m. to review the budget recommendations and expenditures for the coming fiscal year. This is a public meeting open to anyone who wishes to attend. Learn more. 

A Bluesy Summer Starts Here
Make some summer plans to join us for Blues in the Grove at District56 on Sunday July 21 from Noon to 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for this indoor show featuring the Mick Martin Blues Band, Zydeco Flames, Annie Sampson, and Bob Jones and the Chosen Few.
