What Makes Our City Run? Find Out at Elk Grove 101!
If you’ve considered becoming more involved in city government, this free class is for you! Elk Grove 101, an immersive seven-session course is designed to engage, empower, and enlighten community members about their local government. The City of Elk Grove is offering this course for anyone 18 and older who lives or works in Elk Grove. Applications will be accepted for the next cohort through Monday, June 24. Classes meet weekly from August 20 to October 1. Sessions are scheduled 6-8 p.m. at District56 with dinner and materials provided. Learn more.

New Housing for the Historic District
Mutual Housing California will hold the next community meeting to share information about their senior housing project planned for Elk Grove’s historic area on Thursday, June 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Elk Grove Library (8900 Elk Grove Blvd.). County Homelessness Report Released
Sacramento Steps Forward released their report last week documenting the results of the 2024 Point in Time (PIT) count which surveyed Sacramento county’s unhoused population. The 2024 PIT count estimates that Elk Grove has 83 unsheltered people – accounting for 2.1% of the County’s unsheltered population. Learn more.

Kicking It Elk Grove
Elk Grove PD in collaboration with Cosumnes Parks & Recreation, is hosting two one-day free soccer camps at Bartholomew Sports Park June 17 and 18. This program is open to participants ages 4-12. The camp will focus on teaching the fundamentals of soccer, good sportsmanship, and teamwork in a safe and fun environment. Advanced registration is required. Some restrictions apply. Learn more.
