Elk Grove police investigating a double homicide

The Elk Grove Police Department is investigating a double homicide after a family member found a man and a woman deceased inside their home.

This is the third homicide in Elk Grove this week. A man was found shot to death on Tuesday night in a hotel parking lot.

The department posted the details on their Facebook page

Detectives are investigating a double homicide that occurred Friday afternoon in northeast Elk Grove.

At 2:13 pm, officers responded to the 9000 block of Crosscourt Way following a report of suspicious circumstances. The reporting person had gone to their family’s residence after several unsuccessful attempts to contact them. Upon entering the home, they discovered both residents, a man and woman, deceased inside.

Based on the investigation, detectives are treating both deaths as homicides.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will make identification of the deceased.
