Elk Grove Earns top honors in 2025 Outstanding Local Streets and Roads Project Awards
Elk Grove is leading the way in innovative road preservation! The City’s Public Works team earned top honors as the Overall Winner in the 2025 Outstanding Local Streets and Roads Project Awards, presented by the League of California Cities (Cal Cities), County Engineers Association of California (CEAC), and California State Association of Counties (CSAC). Their surface treatment project used cutting-edge, cost-effective techniques to extend pavement life, improve safety, and enhance public access—all while staying on budget and minimizing disruptions. Thanks to their dedication, our streets are safer, smoother, and built to last. Learn more about the City’s Pavement Management Program at elkgrove.gov/roadmaintenance.

Trail Improvements Ahead
Great news for local trail users! Public Works crews will begin maintenance work next week on three popular trails to ensure a smoother, safer experience for walkers, joggers, and cyclists.
EG Creek E/S Trail – From Laguna Blvd (south of Peet’s Coffee) to Emerald Vista Drive EG Creek W/S Trail – From Laguna Blvd (east of Sutter Urgent Care) to Oneto Park Strong Park/East EG Basin Trail – From Hambley Cir to Charolais Way
This work will take place April 7-11 from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, weather permitting. Trails will be closed during work hours but will reopen in sections as each phase is completed.
