![]() If Laguna Boulevard is part of your daily drive… Work has started along Laguna Boulevard between Bruceville Road and Laguna Springs Drive to address deteriorating pavement conditions and median landscaping. Pavement rehabilitation will repair lifts and cracks caused by the trees in the center medians. The trees were reviewed by a certified master arborist and removal was determined to be the most effective way to prevent ongoing damage and reduce long-term maintenance needs. Work is scheduled in stages that will include pavement repairs and additional median work later this summer. Irrigation upgrades, grading, and new trees better suited to the median spacing that will result in fewer future impacts to the roadway are all part of the project. Cold-in-place recycling (CIR), a treatment that reuses existing asphalt to rebuild the road base before adding a new surface, will reduce the need for new materials and hauling and extend the life of the roadway. Work will take place at night (8pm–5am), so lanes reopen by morning. During the day, you may notice reduced speeds and rough roadway surfaces through the work zone. These improvements are funded by Measure E and will result in smoother roadway segments and landscape updates by the fall. Learn more about the City’s award-winning pavement maintenance program. |
