  • Jusme, I commend your actions in trying to help a student with the realities of life. That is what a lot of people don’t understand about life. She made choices to put herself in that starving student situation though. Even after you sat down with her and laid out financial problems, she still made her choices. This is starving by your life…[Read more]

  • I see your points. I may not necessarily agree with all of them. But, I did ask what I was missing about the article. The article mentions kids at Syracuse, Michigan State, and other big name colleges are using this program.

I guess my thought is, if you know someone who is working hard in college and is need of food, couldn’t you maybe make…[Read more]

Strongly disagree. Obama is the divider, but that was his entire agenda, divide and conquer, especially along racial lines. Trump is just the opposite, evidenced by those that supported him in relation to previous GOP candidates. What is it that draws you to this conclusion?

  • Or is it “hey, free food, grab some”. I really can’t believe a student cannot afford a 59 cent ramen noodle, if they are going to college. If you are going to college, you better be able to afford what comes with it. You made a choice to go to college.

Funny thing about article. What the heck is “food insecurity”? So, they ain’t starving.…[Read more]

I expect my children to act more “adult” everyday. Everyday they are closer to adulthood. Do I expect them to be adults now at 15 and 16? No. Do I expect them to have some maturity that separates adults from teenagers? Yes. Are they going to make mistakes, Yes. Will they learn from them, I hope so. That is the growing up part of becoming…[Read more]

Our daughter rented a place in midtown after college, six month lease, great setup for her being close to the J Street bars and friends. That lasted about 90 days, and she moved home and paid her rent through the lease. She didn’t feel safe and was just more comfortable here. I think she was here about four years, until she got…

Al said this guy is already making a “good living” yet can’t afford to live on his own. Maybe he drives a crappy car, not a BMW….we don’t know that. What we do know is that housing prices in some markets have sky rocketed in the last 15 years, outpacing the 2%-3% increases in earnings each year. Many places didn’t see the…

Sure, but I’ll want to see numbers before I worry too much about it. We have a young guy on our team who still lives at home, but he works and can’t afford southern California property prices right now. I know roughly how much we pay him and it is good money, but he won’t be buying anything beyond a mobile home on it. I’ll…

Many other factors need to change as well for “income” gap. You gotta stop living off your parents and quit relying on government to support you. Both are good to help you get back on your feet in rough times, but the cord needs to be cut somewhere after you get back on your feet. The want to work and be successful is lacking in many cases…

  • You can’t argue that clean up would be a breeze. My biggest issue is where the bedroom is on the top and you use a ladder to climb up and down. Getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom would be hazardous. Retirees have to really think of not using that type of setup. Maybe younger people it would be ok. But, the risk is still there.

  • Although one big big advantage for tiny homes is that when friends and family call to stay at your place when they visit, you can truly say “Sorry, I really don’t have any room”. Ha ha.

adiffer, you are funny. I have no problem with complaining. But, there is complaining and the just plain being destructive. It suits your purpose to support that and you are trying to make it like I am silly on telling people to follow the law. Remember that law allows them to protest, but still respect others. And they do not do that. That…[Read more]

Nah. He’s not destroying property. What he did instead is destroy some of our unity. What he did during the campaign is worse.

That’s cool. I’m not a fan of burning cities, but I suspect those folks will cool off, calm down, and then figure out what they plan to do next.
    I don’t expect they’ll forgive Trump, though. The…

“It wasn’t all that long ago Trump was whining about rigged elections, so no one has the moral high ground here”

So you are comparing his whining to looting and destroying property? Proves my point. Trump was not out there destroying properties, vandalizing, and looting because he didn’t get his way.

My point is the President of the US has…[Read more]

Now we have to wait till people stop burning cars, looting, and vandalizing properties and then settle down. So your candidate loss, ok, relax and breathe. This is exactly what America is tired of, the entitlement. Learn to deal with life when things don’t go your way. It is funny it only happens when Republicans win the election for presidency…
